Noise Ordinance 21-14 Summary
On November 1, 2021 the City Council approved certain amendments to the 2020 noise ordinance (Ordinance 20-05) for the City of Marco Island. The entire ordinance is available at:

This document is a summary of the key points of the new ordinance.
General noise prohibitions:
1. A decibel measurement standard is in effect 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
a. In residential zones, the sound when measured at the receiving property may not exceed 68 dBA between 7:00am – 9:00pm or 60 dBA between 9:00pm – 7:00 am or;
b. In commercial zones, the sound may not exceed 72 dBA between 7:00am – 9:00pm or 65 dBA between 9:00pm – 7:00am., or;
c. In multifamily dwellings or duplexes, the sound may not exceed 50 dBA between 7:00am – 9:00pm or 45 dBA between 9:00pm – 7:00am, as measured from the neighbor’s dwelling unit.
2. Between 10:00pm – 7:00am, the sound may not be plainly audible from fifty (50) feet from the property line or within a fully enclosed structure of a residence. This plainly audible standard does not apply to multifamily dwellings and duplexes.
3. Construction noise is prohibited between 7:00pm – 7:00am and on Sundays and holidays.
4. Landscaping maintenance noise is prohibited between the hours of 9:00pm – 7:00am.
Enforcement and Penalties:
1. Any person responsible for a violation of the noise ordinance will be given a warning and must comply within five (5) minutes. No warnings will be given after 11:00pm.
2. If a police officer or community service officer returns to a residence within 48 hours and there is a violation, a citation or Notice of Violation will be issued.
3. The person responsible for the violation, as well as the property owner, may be issued a citation or Notice of Violation for each individual violation.
4. Penalties for violations to the noise control ordinance are based on a rolling 12-month period. The first violation will result in the issuance of a Notice of Violation (NOV) which constitutes an official warning. Each subsequent NOV issued within the 12-month period shall be subject to increasing civil penalties, with the first being $250.00, the second being $500.00, the third being $1,000.00, the fourth being $2,000.00, the fifth being $4,000.00, and the sixth and all subsequent violations being $5,000.00.

Never park overnight in the between sidewalk and street, or park to vehicle is over the sidewalk.

We will ask you for the names of everyone in your group after you make your reservation. You agree to give us the names
Excess people at property is a violation of your rental agreement and can mean you have to leave.
The host agency may fine you if it does not cancel the rental. You agree to pay the fine.
Trash
Your responsibility is to put garbage in outside bins AND put the bins at street Sunday and Wednesday night
We can charge you $50 if you don’t’ do this AND the cost to dispose of the trash.
Garbage trucks pick up trash on Thursday morning and Monday Morning
House Condition
The house is clean when you arrive. You must leave the house in reasonably clean condition
Leave no more than 2 loads of laundry. You pay $25 for each extra load.
Leave the kitchen stove and counters fee of cooked food in pots and plates.
